Tom the Cat was the Spirit guide of Robert X Bishop. He was said to have a brain the size of a  planet. Tom’s spirit is still alive, and we hope his story will entertain and inspire this generation and generations to come. Rest in Peace Tom the Cat! 

An Ode to Tom the Cat

And the Great Spirit asked Tom the Cat,
Are you ready to come home?
Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul.
And, as a cat, you know I am most able
to decide anything for myself.

Are you coming then? asked the Great Spirit.
Soon, replied the orange whiskered angel,
But I must come slowly
For my human parents are troubled
For you see, they need me, quite certainly.
But my kidneys have all but failed and I am in terrible distress.
Still I must think of my parents first,
because you know I love them so.
But don’t they understand
Asked the Great Spirit?
That you’ll never really leave them.
That your souls are intertwined, For eternity.
That true love cannot be stopped by death.
Only delayed for the twinkling of an eye.
True love just is…. forever and ever and ever.

Eventually they will understand,
Replied the Tom the Cat,
For I will whisper into their hearts
That I am always with them
I just am in their hearts, as they are in mine….
forever and ever and ever.
